*Cue Alice Cooper….”Schools out for summer!” ? Kids are out of school for their summer break & I thought I would share our favorite smoothie recipe! Summer weather is my least favorite weather. I LOATHE the heat, but I do love all the fun salads and drinks that come along with it. Food fixes everything ? This would be a huge hit with the kiddos! I know it is with my girls! I have bought frozen strawberries, pineapples, and mangos all separately but now I buy the frozen bag of mixed fruit instead. It has strawberries, pineapples, mangos & peaches! I have noticed that the smoothies may come out a little different each time because with each batch you have different ratios of frozen fruit! They are still delicious nonetheless! I used my Ninja blender and it blended the smoothie like a champ!

Ingredients

  • 2 c ice
  • 2 c frozen mixed fruit
  • 1/4 c sugar (you can omit the sugar if you want it to be a little healthier)
  • 1/2 c orange-pineapple juice (you can add a little more once you have blended if it’s too thick)

Preparing

Add your ice, mixed fruit, and sugar if you are going to use any to the blender. Pour your orange-pineapple juice over top.

Blend, blend, blend, & blend some more. Sometimes I have to maneuver stuff around with a spoon to get it to blend nice and smooth. If it is too thick you can add a little bit of orange juice at a time and blend.

If you want it a little sweeter add more sugar or you could even use a sugar substitute! Play around with it and add other fruits if you’d like! Change up the fruits and use a different juice if you’d like! Just make sure whatever you choose to use complement each other! You can’t go wrong with a fruit smoothie on a hot summer day!
